Latent Semantic research is an algorithm. An idea. A tool. It has got many applications for which it is perfectly suited, and some for which it’s not. Some of those applications include, but are not limited to from Wikipedia :

Compare the documents in the idea space data clustering, document classification
Find similar documents across languages, after investigating a base set of translated documents cross language retrieval
Find relations between terms synonymy and polysemy

Given a query of terms, interpret it into the concept space, and find matching documents info retrieval
Manifestly if you are a search website, the information retrieval would be most engaging. If you have a massive amount of research abstracts that you are trying to categorize for research purposes, you’d be most interested in document classification.

The fake debate appears to be related to 2 of the 4 examples above, info retrieval and synonymy and polysemy. For some reason, folk seem to feel that because a search website doesn’t use LSI for their information retrieval, it has no place in the construction of a website. That makes about as much sense as saying Google doesn’t use MacBooks in their data centers so I should not buy one. When it comes to building internet sites, the issue of whether or not any search site uses LSI for results isn’t just wrong, it’s not even valid they’re different applications.

Natural language processing, language technology, computational linguistics, search engine algorithms and data retrieval are all vital components integrated into this market analysis tool.

I live in a neighborhood where you’re either a Christmas lights fan or you’re out of the community! No laughing matter. So when I found out, I had already moved in to the vicinity. Luckily for me, I am a Christmas lights fiend! I may be overzealous, but I don’t ordinarily win the annual Christmas light show in my residential area. And I’ve been fine with that fact because I know that I don’t put in as much movement as I can. I’ve always been occupied, either with work or family.

This year however, I vow to make it to at least second place in the Christmas light show. I’m planning way early – what sort of Christmas lights to get, Christmas related creatures, Santa, reindeer, a nativity scene, and oh, you name it! Once the planning is finished, my folks and I will split up the work and each person will get a specific task to adorn one part of the house. You watch neighbors, I will surely take part in the Christmas light show this time around. And I know I will at least get our name and our house on the Christmas Light Show list!
